  • World War 1 Museum Night  - Thursday, March 14, 5:30 - 8:30 p.m. at Da Vinci High School, 1400 E. 8th Street, Davis

Our Da Vinci World War 1 Museum Night is coming up and it is the biggest project of the year for sophomores- they will have spent 6 weeks in History and English working on this incredible project. The driving question for students is, "How can a World War 1 Museum of Remembrance capture the causes and consequences of WW1 and reflect how the national international policies affected human lives, psyches, and the social, cultural, and political developments of the world?".

Their task will be to delve into this complex and varied event and create an exhibit the impact and importance of this First World War. Each team of students will be assigned a specific country that was involved in World War 1. They will design a full museum display and assume the role of museum, docents during this evening event.

I would like to invite you to serve as a judge/panelist for this event. You'll have the opportunity to walk through the exhibits with other judges prior to the beginning of the evening but will only be asked to judge 2-3 groups. No prior knowledge of the war or museum work is required. The event is Thursday, March 14th from 5:30 - 8:30pm at the Da Vinci High School campus at 1400 E. 8th Street . The orientation will begin at 5:00pm, with dinner included, and judging commences at 5:30pm. Please take time out of your schedule to take part in this amazing project and reflect back on this incredible part of our country's history.
