Testing Update October 2020

Testing Update October 2020Dear Parents, Guardians, and Students,

Following a recent message we sent about tests designed and managed through the College Board, this letter is to provide you with new information regarding  SAT testing.

The College Board has posted monthly Saturday opportunities to take the SAT through testing centers in our region.  However, many Davis students have reported limited to no availability in those Saturday test sessions.

In an effort to accommodate DJUSD students, Davis Senior High School is planning to offer two sessions of “School Day SAT Testing” in October, provided that COVID-19 rates in Yolo County permit on-campus testing to occur.  At this time, seniors may register to take the SAT for October 14 or October 27 at Davis Senior High during the school day.  While registration at this time is limited to  DJUSD seniors only, please watch for information about sign-up opportunities  for other students depending on the availability of  open seats closer to the test dates.

Please note, the ability for DJUSD to offer in-person testing requires that Yolo County COVID-19 rates to remain steady or improve between now and October 13.  If Yolo County fails to remain in the Red Tier or improve, DJUSD will reschedule students registered for the October 14 date to October 27. Testing on October 27 will also be dependent on whether Yolo County COVID-19 rates.  If conditions worsen before the last week in October, DJUSD will cancel the testing.

Davis Senior High School staff have posted information about “School Day SAT Testing” on the Davis Senior High School Testing website.   There you can also find instructions for registration and payment.

If you have any questions, please contact your school counselor.

Sincerely,

Troy Allen
Director of Secondary Education and Leadership
