Don't Ignore the Signs

Da Vinci Psychology students - Sonia Sutton, Paolo Gonzales, Saif Younis, and Noemi Ho -  earned 3rd place for our region in the statewide Directing Change Program and Film Contest! The annual contest challenges student teams across the state to create 60 second Public Service Announcements to inform their peers about either Suicide Prevention to “inspire a new generation to know the warning signs for suicide and how to support a friend”or educate them about Mental Health Issues and “change the conversations about mental health in families, schools and communities and increase help seeking” (directingchange.org). Furthermore, teams that place for their regions are offered a cash prize and an invitation to attend the awards ceremony in Los Angeles where the winners for the entire state will be announced. See their video for the Mental Health Matters category, “Together in Color” and also check out the video in the Suicide Prevention category, “Don’t Ignore the Signs” by Da Vinci students Olivia Quesada, Teigen Johnson, and Saif Younis that received an Honorable Mention for our region! We are so proud of all of our Psychology students for their thoughtful film submissions this year!
